Digicel, Jamaica’s largest mobile provider today announced that its prepaid customers who top up with $200 or more on Friday October 9th will benefit from its Free International Weekend Promotion which gives customers free calls to the USA, Canada and UK landlines on Saturday and Sunday. Head of Marketing at Digicel, Wayne Miller outlined that this is another value offer that makes it easier for Digicel customers to stay in touch with friends and families in the USA, Canada and UK.
Digicel Free International Weekend Promotion starts from 12:00 AM on Saturday October 10th to 11:59 PM on Sunday October 11th. Miller furthered that a large number of the Jamaican Diaspora lives in the USA, Canada and UK and this offer from Digicel will ensure that its 2 million customers stay in touch with friends and families overseas at a time when many are unable to keep in touch due to global economic conditions. “Digicel is looking for bigger, better ways to wow its customers and we feel that allowing our customers the opportunity to speak to friends and families for free this weekend is yet another way to reaffirm our commitment members of Jamaica’s largest family,” ended Miller.
Customers who are already subscribers to the Digicel select 1000 and select 1250 International Calling Plan will not be eligible for the Free International Weekend Promotion. Qualifying calls will have a fair usage limit of 2 hours of free talk time and are limited to 15 minutes each, after which International Calls will be charged at the regular rate.
The promotion is only eligible to calls made to landlines and mobiles in the USA, Canada and UK landlines.
