Six persons including two females were detained by the Westmoreland Police during an operation in Darlistan on Saturday morning.
RJR News was told that the six are from Kingston and St. James.
They were picked up during a special operation conducted by the police from Sav-la-mar and Darliston.
Saturday morning's operation forms part of the strategy by members of the security forces, who are seeking to flush out criminal elements who have fled crime-ravaged communities in Kingston and St. Andrew to calmer areas.
A source close to the police told RJR News the six are to be questioned between Saturday and Sunday.
The source added that since the West Kingston operation to capture Christopher 'Dudus' Coke, several strange persons have moved to rural areas seeking shelter.
