Tivoli fined Starri10
Brian Rose

Tivoli Gardens FC were fined a total of $33,600 for their failure to appear for a fixture in the Claro Champions League, following a meeting of the KSAFA Disciplinary committee yesterday.

The club was found to be in breach of the body's rules and regulations after not turning up for an encounter against Waterhouse at the Waterhouse Mini-Stadium on Wednesday, for which the former were also awarded three points and a 3-0 score margin. An issue regarding branding rights is suspected to be at the heart of the dispute.

According to KSAFA, no formal communication was submitted to the organisation by Tivoli for their failure to show for the match, and as such, these sanctions were effected as per Article 7.5, 7.6, and 7.7 of KSAFA's rules and regulations.

compensation

Article 7.5 states: "If a club does not report for a match, except in cases of force recognised by the Competitions Committee or if it refuses to continue to play or leave the stadium before the end of the match, the team shall be considered as having lost the match and three points shall be awarded to its opponents with a score of three to zero (3-0), and is fined $25,000". The club were fined an additional $8,600 under Article 7.6 (The club) "shall pay compensation for any damages or losses suffered by the other club/KSAFA". The payment of referees and match commissioner as a result had to be paid. Tivoli was represented at the meeting by manager Brian Rose.

However, Stony Hill FC also found themselves in hot water and was the recipient of an identical fine after it was found the team used ineligible players. The team have also been put on probation. The two players were used in the Claro Under-13 competition.

A protest, according to KSAFA, was lodged by one of the opposing teams, and an investigation was subsequently launched.

The investigations revealed that the players were ineligible to participate in the competition, as the identification cards that were used by the club for the players in question were not issued by the KSAFA.

tampering of ID

Stony Hill FC were sanctioned for using the players and the tampering of KSAFA ID's under Article 17.2 of the association rules and regulations. The decision is subject to an appeal

Article 17.2 reads: "Any team found guilty of fielding an ineligible player shall forfeit the match. Victory and the resultant three points will be awarded to the opposing team as well as the score 3-0, or greater, depending on the score of the match.

Constant Spring FC were also punished as they on the other hand used an over-age player in their Under-13 match on July 7, 2010, against Red Hills. Constant Spring FC was fined $20,000 and the game awarded to Red Hills by a 3-0 score margin.

Additionally, the club and player have been referred to the KSAFA Disciplinary Committee for further sanction.
