Consumers will know next week, if there are to be any changes in the price of rice. The head of Jamaica Rice Mills, Derick Nembhard says his company will be reviewing the price of July's shipments.

He was however cautious not to say what is the likely direction for rice prices after the review.

Mr. Nembhard, who also heads Jamaica Flour Mills, had already said that there will be no reduction in the price of flour due to the strengthening of the Jamaican dollar and declines in the price of wheat.

He had said that is because the company had absorbed increases when they occurred and would see the current situation as a normalisation.
