Motorists are being advised that as of Monday, a section of the St. Christopher to Glengoffe main road in St. Andrew will be closed to vehicular traffic.
The National Works Agency (NWA) says the breakaway which existed in the vicinity of Cavaliers District, has severely worsened, reducing the road to less than required width for single-lane access.
The NWA says the closure has become a necessary action to protect the safety of motorists who use the road.
The alternative route for motorists travelling from St. Christopher and wishing to go to Lawrence Tavern is through Stony Hill into Temple Hall, Nolan Hill and into Lawrence Tavern.
The reverse obtains for motorists travelling from Glengoffe.
