G-gage
Marcus McKenzie, the son of the mayor of Kingston, Desmond McKenzie, is to answer drug charges in the Half Way Tree Resident Magistrate’s Court next Thursday.
Marcus was arrested for possession of ganja and resisting arrest after a run-in with the police yesterday.
The Constabulary Communications Network has confirmed the charges against the 30 year-old Kingston businessman.
It’s reported that he was among a group of men who were stopped by a joint police/military patrol after leaving a popular dance on Waltham Park Road.
Marcus McKenzie was reportedly searched and a quantity of marijuana found in the front left pocket of the pants he was wearing.
It’s reported that the charge of resisting arrest was added after McKenzie, a businessman from Waterworks, in St Andrew, became combative and shoved the officer who was making the arrest.
He was taken to the Hunts Bay Police Station where he was granted bail.
