A woman who allegedly stole a teen's cellular phone and then allowed him to be beaten by some men was remanded yesterday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.
The woman was identified as Trevenor Walters of a Corporate Area address. She pleaded not guilty to the charge larceny from a person.
According to the allegations, the teen was on his way home from school when the female appeared and took the phone from his hand and ran away.
The allegations suggested that he was then attacked by a group of men and was beaten while the woman escaped.
When the prosecution asked the complainant if he saw the person in the court that stole his phone, he pointed firmly on the accused indicating that it was she who robbed him.
Walters was remanded and should return to court on December 3.
