It's time to put on your dancing shoes
as after a brief pause, dancing is now carrying the swing in the dancehall again with the 'Skip to Ma Luu', 'Summa Swing' and 'Nuh Behaviour' dances increasing in popularity.

Last year, it was the Overmars created 'Nuh Linga' and Ice's 'Gully Creepa' that ruled the dance floor and got international recognition through sprint champion Usain Bolt - and after a brief break, Jamaica
is dancing once more. This time it is Overmars from the 'Above A Dem' squad with the 'Nuh Behaviour' and the Ravers Clavers created 'Summa Swing' and 'Skip to Ma Luu' that are the latest.

Bolting to the top

Since this year, the 'Nuh Behaviour' dance move was showcased on BET's 106 and Park by Bolt, with a song from Voicemail with the same name giving the song more popularity. And while 'Summa Swing' is mentioned in Holiday by Ding Dong and Chevaughn, 'Skip to Luu' has more than one song in its honour with Skip to My Luu from QQ, Skip to Ma Luu from Serani, Biggy and Ding Dong, Skip to Ma Lou by Assassin and Voicemail and Skip by RDX.

When THE STAR spoke with Overmars recently, he said the dance was created in April of this year and dubbed with the catchy name, it has caught on with the public. According to Overmars the simplicity of the dance, like the 'Nuh Linga', has allowed for the dance to catch on.

He said: "Different people break down the dance different ways, we as dancers add to it and give it more style and then you have others who do the simpler dance. People will like how it look and try a ting and do dem own ting." For the Christmas season according to Overmars, Munda Above A Dem has a new dance coming out called the 'Follow Through', which he describes as a full body wave.

The 'dancing army', the Ding Dong-led Ravers Clavers, also have a few hot new moves of their own. Ding Dong's 'Skip to Ma Luu' looks very promising going into the Christmas season. Asked about how he felt about the dance, the ever confident dancer said: "A di biggest dance out now, nobody can argue dat."

Fellow Ravers Clavers member, Pencil Man recently created 'Drive Roun Dem', another dance move which is also quickly gaining recognition and already has dancehall fans moving in unison.

Another group, Sample Six is also looking to add to the 'variety' this Christmas. One of their latest moves, 'Clean and a bounce' is also another move to learn. "A Weddi Weddi wi deh bout four month ago and Sample seh some people clean but dem naw bounce so wi jus buil a ting fi it," Dolla Bounce, a member of Sample Six told THE STAR.

The Black Blingaz dancers are also keeping themselves in the mix with 'Sky Is Da Limit.' The group recently shot a 'Sky is Da Limit' video as well.
