Nearly three weeks after they were killed under various circumstances, post mortems on the bodies of the civilian victims of the West Kingston incursion got underway Tuesday morning

The exercise is ongoing at the Spanish Town Hospital Morgue in St. Catherine.

The examinations will take place Tuesday through to Sunday from 8.30 in the morning until two o’clock in the afternoon.

Persons are asked to contact the Legal Medicine Unit at 924-9248 or the Bureau of Special Investigation (BSI) at 922-7277 to find out the date of their relative’s post mortem.

Relatives are advised to arrive at the morgue by eight o'clock in the morning to register with personnel from the BSI.

The autopsies, which are being carried out by the government pathologist, is also to be viewed by independent overseas observers, personnel from the BSI, the Office of the Public Defender as well as representatives from Jamaicans for Justice.

Dr. Michael Pollanen, a member of the Royal College of Pathologists in Canada, is to observe on behalf of the Public Defender.
