A policewoman was robbed of her service revolver by a lone gunman last Thursday evening.

According to police reports, the sergeant assigned to the Kingston Central police drove up to her Portmore, St Catherine, home about 7 p.m.

As she exited her vehicle and headed for her gate, she was pounced upon by the armed man.

The two were involved in a tussle and the gunman managed to grab her handbag which contained her weapon.

The gunman then fled the scene.
