They are known for making people laugh but comedic duo Ity and Fancy Cat plan to expand their work with a song called Tan Deh Deh.

Speaking with THE STAR yesterday, Ity said they recorded the song at Champagne Records less than two weeks ago but it was officially released to the public last week.

He said the idea for it came from one of the skits from season three of their show entitled Nuh Let In Nobody in which the 'country helper' frequently used the term 'tan deh deh'. Ity said he was urged by Owen 'Blakka' Ellis to do a song using the phrase that has become very popular.

"I think we have come up with something simple and very catchy. People like the skit, so they will like the song. It's an extension of the skit," said Ity, noting that there were plans to do a music video for the song with Kevin Lee the director and editor of the Ity and Fancy Cat show.

"It's an extension of what we do so on some of our live shows you can expect to hear us perform it."

well received

He added, "This song has lyrics from Fancy Cat and the verse that I deejay is Blakka's lyrics and there are elements of the skit in it."

Ity further explained that Blakka wrote an entire song using the phrase but only some of it was used in this first song. He said there are plans to do another song using the rest of Blakka's lyrics with Kathy Grant, who played the role of the helper in the skit.

Fancy Cat also seems pleased with their effort and hopes it will be well received.

"I feel good 'cause it have a nice catchy punch line and people a talk bout it and it nuh come out fully yet. I hope the general public will push it to number one 'cause we plan to do a video for it. It's a next level for the Ity and Fancy Cat brand and TV show," Fancy Cat told THE STAR.

But this is not the first time they have recorded songs, as years ago they did a medley video with Ity's Black Am I and Fancy Cat's Walk Out.

Meanwhile, Ity said they were already preparing for their year-end show Christmas Comedy Cook-Up: The Ity and Fancy Cat Show Live and a New Year's show in Canada. In addition, he said pre-production work had already been started for season four of their show, which will begin airing in the first quarter of next year.
