The Public Defender says a panel of international forensic pathologists is on standby in the event that further assistance is needed in conducting the post mortems on the victims of the West Kingston incursion.
Earl Witter says the team was assembled with assistance from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
“It’s not necessary to have more than one pathologist observing these post mortems and these are very busy people, so depending on their availability and the pace at which the government pathologist proceeds here, we will be able to count on the continued support of the UNDP in providing a relief pathologist. At all times, throughout the course of these autopsies, our office will be represented by a member of the pool,” Mr. Witter said.
