The police are maintaining a presence in Tucker, St. James after residents blocked the road Saturday on several occasions, furious over the police's version of a fatal shooting.

According to the police, two of their members are nursing gunshot wounds while two alleged gunmen are dead following a reported shootout in the community on Friday night.

The dead men have been identified as 19-year-old Davion Haughton also known as Kino and 18-year-old Kenroy Brown otherwise called Silence both of 29 district in Tucker, St. James.

The police say that about 10 o'clock, a team was patrolling the area when they spotted a group of men who ran into bushes.

The men reportedly came upon another group of policemen who were on foot patrol and a gun battle ensued.

Two constables one of whom is attached to the Mobile Reserve were shot and injured during the melee while Brown and Haughton were killed.

The other men reportedly escaped.

The police say they recovered a .38 revolver.

But residents have disputed the police report.

The police say they are continuing the search for the other men.
